Abstract
The annular defects occur in various degrees of severity, ranging from superficial circumferential grooves in the skin to amputation of the whole or part of a limb. It may be formed due to unknown reasons during the critical period in development in the uterus. We treated a case of congenital annular constriction band surgically. The band and overlying skin were removed by a Z-plasty excision and the skin was sutured in two stages, the anterior and posterior halves being done 5 months apart.
